Raiding and You

Many players of WoW have little experience raiding. Raiding serves the great purpose of transforming a solo player to a team player (hopefully), which is the entire point of a MMORPG or at least the PvE aspect of it.

Each class has a role to play, and each boss encounter is won when each player performs their role like clockwork. One participating in raids shouldn't become discouraged with failures; wipes happen, mistakes happen, misfortune happens. Week after week, the instance starts anew and hopefully each week will be a little better than the last.

The best way to assure success is knowledge. Don't head into a raid and expect the strat run-through to be all the preparation you need. Come with all the potions, elixirs, food, etc. that you need. Read the strats on the web. Watch the videos on YouTube or whatever. If everyone in the raid knows what's happening and what's going to happen, we have a big advantage. 90% of a successful boss encounter is foresight.

Nice gear will drop and if you participate regularly you will receive in due time. The groups are small enough that when an item does drop for your class, you're not going to have too much competition for it. The DKP sytem in effect for 25man raids will assure you will be awarded in due time.
